BACK EAST

Out 16/09: High On Life • First Single

BACK EAST bring back a time that feels like it was decades ago, but was actually just around the corner. Remember when RED CITY RADIO, SPRAYNARD and NOTHINGTON were touring endlessly, and your biggest problem was whether you’d make it to their secret set at Durty Nelly’s during Fest?

BACK EAST sound like they’ve just stepped out of that era. It’s 2016 in a 2026 shell, with angst-ridden lyrics and a feel for hooks that will stay stuck in your head for a very, very long time.

"This is exactly the kind of band I would listen to nonstop when I was in high school. I believe this subgenre of punk is referred to as orgcore in many circles, but I personally refer to it as my bread and butter genre, so to speak. It’s gruff and melodic. I particularly love the bass guitar work and that lead guitar throughout the track. "
